Description:

Inuyasha is a half-demon (Hanyou) with long, silver hair and golden eyes. Standing at 5’6″, he is usually seen sporting a jacket known as the “Robe of the Fire Rat” which is a cloak woven together from the fur of hinezumi. Due to the fact that he has dog shaped ears that stick prominently upon the top of his head, Inuyasha usually wears a baseball cap when seen in public.

Human Form: On the first day of a new moon, Inuyasha loses his yokai power, effectively transforming him into an ordinary human. In this form, Inuyasha’s hair turns jet black, and he has human ears. He also loses the ability to wield Tessaiga at full power.

Human Inuyasha

Yokai Inuyasha: When Inuyasha’s life is in danger, his latent demon blood reacts, transforming him into a full fledged, 100% Yokai. Inuyasha experienced this for the first time after losing his Tessaiga in a battle against Goshinki. With his humanity dormant, Inuyasha quickly and easily loses control of himself, and has known to attack any and everyone around him. With each transformation, Inuyasha loses more of his humanity. While in this state, Inuyasha’s eyes burn blood red, with blue irises. Purple stripes appear across each side of his face, along with elongated fangs.

Yokai Inuyasha

History

During Inuyasha’s legendary, epic, documented battle against Naraku and his attempts to fully solidify the Shikon No Tama, Inuyasha was thrust into a time that was not his own, and he found his way into the halls of the Ultimate Crossover Tournament Fighting League. This is his story…

During their travels, Kagome and Inuyasha were blindsided and attacked by Europeans who had traveled the world in search for the Shikon No Tama. Inuyasha was defeated in battle, and the many shards they managed to collect were stolen. Falling into the well, Inuyasha and Kagome found themselves Trapped in the Present. The hope of ever returning was dim, until Inuyasha witnessed the return of President Vegeta on an episode of UCTF: Massacre. After Sota, Kagome’s brother explained to Inuyasha that the UCTF Arena itself is a gateway to other dimensions, Inuyasha sought out the closest person to him who was strong enough to make it to the top of the UCTF Ladder. Ranma Saotome. After a brief battle, Ranma agreed to help Inuyasha. Traveling to Anime City, Ranma introduced the Half-Breed to UCTF President Jeice, who then agreed to help Inuyasha return home, but for a price. He would have to compete in the UCTF.

And compete he did. Inuyasha knocked off B.B. Hood in his debut and began a string of victories that would create a large fan following. His only defeat was in a multi-competitor main event where everyone in the ring jumped him in order to remove the robe of the fire rat, followed by a devastating technique that rendered Inuyasha unconscious. Soon after, Inuyasha engaged in a feud with Raven Darc that carried Inuyasha to his first Intergalactic Title run.

Even though Inuyasha was finding success in the UCTF, he was bothered that Jeice had not kept his end of the bargan. Inuyasha began to pester The President, only for Jeice to deliver excuse after excuse. Inuyasha’s frustration turned to all out rage, when he discovered that while he was attempting to complete his mission in Anime City, Kagome had been kidnapped in Japan. Inuyasha perceived this to be Jeice’s fault. If Jeice had kept his promise to begin with, Inuyasha would have been back by Kagome’s side to protect her. Inuyasha quickly destroyed the office of The President, and if not for Jeice’s smooth talking in the clutch, Jeice himself! The President sends Inuyasha on a redeye back to Tokyo, where the Half-Demon quickly creates a disturbance as he raged through the airport. This easily caused the police to be called, as they attempted to stop Inuyasha’s rampage through the streets of Tokyo. Kagome’s family convinces Inuyasha to calm down as he’s taken into custody.

While in the hands of the Police, Inuyasha’s presence is requested by a “Kurana.” Upon arriving The Dog Demon meets the Chief of Police, who batters the dog demon, revealing himself to be a now aged version of Naraku. He reveals to Inuyasha with pleasure that he killed all of his friends in the past with ease after he disappeared and has waited five centuries to do the same to the Dog Demon. However, he concedes that there is an evil bigger than him preparing to use the Shikon no Tama to rule the world. Handing over the last, black energy fueled shard to Inuyasha, Naraku sets the Dog Demon Free from custody. Upon returning to the Higurashi strong hold, Inuyasha is confronted by Vegeta. Meanwhile, the veil of the organization that Kidnapped Higurashi, and stole the Shikon no Tama 500 years ago is removed. They’re using the Jewel to revive none other than Xanthius.

Vegeta explains what has happened to Kagome, and with the help of William Clarke, the two warriors storm the strong hold of The Organization. Awaiting their arrival, Adam unleashes their Prototype against the Dog Demon, while trapping William Clarke, forcing him to watch his partner’s distruction. Inuyasha is easily overwhelmed by his opponent, and is forced to use the desecrated jewel shard given to him by Naraku, instantly changing Inuyasha into the blood thirsty full-blooded Yokai. William Clarke with a freed Kagome joins the battle, leading to William and Inuyasha barely defeating the Prototype. Inuyasha, still insane from the shard quickly turns his attention to William Clarke who barely manages to subdue the Yokai by purifying the jewel shard within Inuyasha and shattering the “X-gene” within his body. The battle is over. With the Shikon No Tama nearly complete and returned to them. Kagome and Inuyasha return to the Feudal Era of Japan, only to find the entire land dead and void of life. Completely changed from the mixing of Multi-dimensional travel, Inuyasha and Kagome have returned to a Feudal era that is not their own.

Returning to the present, Inuyasha attacks The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Headquarters in Japan, only to find that “Kurana” had retired weeks earlier. Now a fugitive, he hides in Ranma’s dojo until Vegeta’s Capsule Corps arrive to extract him. He knows now, the only way to return to the land he once knew, there is only one day. Wait for the impending return of Xanthius and defeat him.

Physical Attacks

Inuyasha is literally a one trick pony while fighting in the ring. He relies on brute strength while in the ring, usually throwing wild strikes and kicks. He is easily bested in the ring when going up against skilled, trained fighters. However, Inuyasha’s resilience to punishment is his ultimate advantage. He can absorb Godly amounts of physical and magical punishment and with-stand it with a smirk on his face. Also, Most of his attacks mentioned cause a wide amount of damage to where Inuyasha does not even need to be close to the opponent to connect! Inuyasha’s mouth is also a weakness as he displays an ridiculous amount of arrogance and has a “matter of fact” way of speaking his mind that rubs alot of people the wrong way.

Sankontessou (Soul-scattering Iron Claws) a.k.a. Iron Reaver Soul Stealer: Inuyasha’s primary, unarmed attack. With his claws, Inuyasha has the ability to rip apart weaker youkai, do a lot of damage to stronger youkai… and he can tear up iron beams.

Hijinkessou a.k.a Blades of Blood: Inuyasha, in combination using the Iron Reaver Soul Stealer will use his own blood soaked hands to throw flying, sharp bloody projectiles towards his opponent in battle. He only uses this if his opponent is able to bloody him in battle.

Tessaiga

At first glance when not in use, the Tessaiga appears to be nothing more than a battered katana with a heavily chipped and rusted blade with the hilt’s fabric tearing away. When transformed, the blade turns into an oversized dog’s fang, fitting for its name. The cross guard turns into a large patch of fur similar to a dog’s also. In the later chapters and episodes, the blade not only becomes slightly larger, but changes colors according to the abilities it absorbs.

Abilities and forms

  • Katana Form
  • Anti-demon barrier: InuYasha and Sesshomaru’s father put a protective barrier within the sword, so that pure demons who do not want to protect humans will be repelled however Shippo is able to hold the Tessaiga without feeling any pain. InuYasha, being a half-human half-demon, can wield the sword fine, though he can only activate it once he desires to protect humans. As a powerful demon, Sesshomaru can wield the sword for a short period of time. Humans can wield the Tessaiga in its untransformed (katana, Japanese for sword) state.
Human Shield: The Tessaiga protects humans holding it from harm.

  • True Form
  • Kenatsu: is the special ablitiy that allows the Tessaiga to cut opponents without touching them surrouding the blade in youki. InuYasha uses the ablitiy before he learns the Kaze no Kizu.

Kaze no Kizu a.k.a. Wind Scar: Special attack that kills 100 demons with one strike with a massive wave of demonic energy. Inuyasha took some time to master this technique, and didn’t even know of its strength at first, until Sesshomaru showed it to him. It is gained by sensing the fissure or scar between 2 demonic forces. He learns to use it without sensing the scar by putting his own power into it. Until he gained that ability, it was not very useful against Kagura since she can change the demonic winds.

Bakuryuha a.k.a. Backlash Wave: Uses the opponent’s strong battle energy and unleashing the Wind Scar at the right point, the energy will be reflected back with the added power of the Wind Scar. Power is amplified many folds. Gained by Inuyasha defeating Ryukotsusei and reflecting his power back at him. However, two requirements are needed in order to implement the Backlash Wave. The first is that Inuyasha can only reflect pure energy attacks. The second is that his own demonic aura must be much stronger than his opponent’s or the Backlash Wave will not form.

  • Red Tessaiga
  • Barrier Shattering: Gained from Shiori’s orb for saving her from her grandfather and his bat yokai, this technique completely shatters barriers (including Naraku’s for a while). When used, Tessaiga glows red. Only the strongest barriers cannot be shattered by this attack such as Naraku’s.

  • Diamond Tessaiga
  • Kongosoha a.k.a. Adamant Barrage in the English dub: Attack gained from Hosenki after Naraku had used a shard of the jewel to corrupt him and caused him to attack InuYasha. The diamonds are able to pierce Naraku’s stronger barriers. Inuyasha is also capable of combining this technique with his Wind Scar.

  • Dragon Scale Tessaiga
  • Yoki Absorption: Having defeated Dakki, Tessaiga gains the ablitiy to absorb a opponent’s yoki directly. InuYasha being hanyo limits the amount of yoki the sword can absorb before regurgitating it back on the user, until Tessaiga absorbs senki which purfies the yoki and stopping the regurgitation.

Yoketsu Cutting: After realizing the true nature of the Tessaiga is to cut InuYasha learns to see yoketsu and uses the Dragon Scale Tessaiga to cut it, instantly destroying a normal yokai, beings created of many different yokai like Naraku and Moryomaru have several yoketsu and cutting them will destroy parts of their body and prevent regeneration of the same. It can also cut the large amount of youki emitting from a strong youkai, which can be fatal.

  • Black Tessaiga
  • Meidou Zangetsuha: This technique was attained when Sesshoumaru’s Tenseiga broke on to Tessaiga. The original technique creates a path to hell by creating a giant circle that can suck anyone in it’s path, though it can also be used to escape from a Meidou one is already in, as well as entering/exiting pocket dimensions as was seen at the end of InuYasha and Sesshoumaru’s final battle for Tessaiga. Note: This move will rarely be used, as this OPENS A PATHWAY TO HELL. This is Inuyasha’s final and most desperate of attacks.

Sheath of Tessaiga (Tessaiga no Saya)

Can deflect or resist demonic energy attacks with the barrier used to contain Tetsusaiga’s power. However it can only withstand a limited number of attacks. The sheath is capable of resisting any amount of offensive force; however, if that force is used continuously then the sheath will crack. This why it was able to hold off Sesshomaru’s Soryuha since it was an attack that was only unleashed once, but couldn’t hold off Hiten’s thunder attacks which were of weaker power than the Soryuha, since he was unleashing them constantly. The sheath can also summon the Tetsusaiga to itself, as seen when Inuyasha was trapped inside the flask of a sage with only the sheath. It was made from the freely given wood of Bokusen’on, an ancient sapient tree, and inherits its magical abilities from it. In one episode this tree deity explains to Sesshomaru the meaning of the two swords and what his father, the Great Dog Demon Inu no Taisho intended. This would also suggest that Tenseiga’s sheath boasts similar abilities. When InuYasha first uses the windscar, Tenseiga forms a barrier and protects Sesshomaru, which seems to confirm this.

    Yokai Inuyasha

With his life in Danger, Inuyasha will transform into his full demon form. He does not use Tessaiga while in this state, and his attacks will all have murderous intent with each strike and he will not stop until his opponent is incapacitated or even dead! Inuyasha is able to talk during this form, but it’s mostly some form of “I’m going to KILL you” when he speaks.
